Restaurant Review - Burma Restaurant

Recently, my wife and I went into DC for dinner and followed-up with an after-hours exhibit at the Smithsonian's Hirshorn Museum. The "art" was interesting, but I had more fun feeding the ducks on the mall. :)

The restaurant we hit was Burma Restaurant, near the Chinatown/Gallery Place metro. The decor was very understated -- as there was none. There was basically only one room, with about 20 or so tables. But the staff were very good, and the food was different but also, very good.

We ordered:
  • Golden Fingers (appetizer): squash fingers battered and deep fried, with a vinegar/chili sauce. Hey, it's deep fried and battered -- is MUST be good. :)
  • Mango Pork: This was a spicy dish, that focused more on curry and heat, and less on mango. But damn good nonetheless.
  • Some sort of noodle dish: Can't remember the name, but it was a noodle dish that had peanuts on it. I think it was #23 on the menu. Looked like pad-thai. Tasted like "feet."

    Score:
    Atmosphere: 2/5
    Food: 3/5
    Service: 4/5
    Total: 9/15

Conclusion: We'll probably go back some day. But we're not in a rush.
